Coming Into Agreement in Your Finances as Husband and Wife

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19 (NKJV) “

“ You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires. James 4:3 (AMP)"

Charity and I have been doing biblical counseling for years now and the subject of finance seems to be the most likely topic to come up. How can both spouses come into agreement without having a big disagreement which leads to not talking to one another for days? Before we get in to that topic, we would like to get into the word of God and see who is the author of wealth or finance. We know God would not bring up the subject of wealth if He did not want his children to have it. We know God would not live one way without wanting His children to live the same way. In 3 John 1:2; Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

L E T ' S A N S W E R S O M E Q U E S T I O N S : Where did the wealth come from? Genesis 1:1-5 (NKJV); "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day." God the Creator must be the author of wealth and finance because he created all that is in the world, including the gold, silver, diamonds, etc…..

Who did God entrust His wealth to? " Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 (NKJV) And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18 (NKJV). And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18 (NKJV).
