“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:19-20 (NKJV)
As you look at the scripture above you see how powerful the prayer of agreement is. As the Lord put this scripture in my heart; I began to look at the power of agreement that two or three people have. I began to see my wife and I, when we began to pray together, how fast our prayers come to pass. There is no distance in prayer, when you began to pray, things happen in the spirit; if we concentrate more in the spirit realm than in the natural realm, we will have more faith in God and in speaking to him. Prayer is communicating with God; just like you have a conversation with someone, but more humble. You talk and wait and let someone else speak. You know we like giving our petitions to God but we do not like waiting for a response from him. Galatians 5:25 Paul is speaking If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. I know we spend more time in the natural instead of the spirit but it should not be that way. Jesus spoke in John 6:63; It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. You know the word is spirit and it is life. I say this all the time but I got this from the word of God, being lead by the spirit is just okaying the word of God. James 1:22; But be doers of the word, and not h earers only, deceiving yourselves.
I love praying with Charity; we are so difference even in praying together; she loves to start out in a song; but not me I just start praying in the spirit. So who is right and who is wrong. No one; Paul wrote in Colossians 3:16; Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Jude1:20; But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spiri t,. When praying in agreement we are ten thousand times more successful in prayer than praying alone. Praying together is one of the reason that God gave you that spouse that you have. What did Jesus say in Matthew 18:19-20; “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” If the Lord says it two times it is very importance. Once you and your wife get together in prayer Jesus is as the third person. Jesus will come and bring your petition to God himself. Glory to God!!!
God begins to speak to us as we pray together in unity for one purpose. I am not saying that it is bad to pray by yourself; you should always keep your own personal prayer life. Jesus is in agreement with you as you pray according to his word, but it is good to pray with your spouse so they will know how you operate in the spirit; and your prayers will get answered faster. We are talking about the power of agreement.
